Journal Archiving Policy
The International Journal of Healthcare and Education (IJHE) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of all published content. We recognize the importance of digital preservation for safeguarding scholarly research and maintaining the permanent scholarly record.
1. Digital Preservation
IJHE ensures the secure archiving of all published articles through participation in trusted preservation and archiving systems, including:
-
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe):
Through the LOCKSS program, IJHE content is preserved in multiple geographically distributed libraries to ensure continued access in case of website failure or other catastrophic events. -
CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS):
IJHE participates in the CLOCKSS initiative, which provides decentralized and secure preservation of scholarly publications to guarantee long-term survival and access.
2. Self-Archiving
-
Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit their published articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, or other preferred archives immediately after publication.
-
All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing free reuse and redistribution with appropriate attribution.
3. Article Availability
-
All articles published by IJHE are assigned a permanent URL and are hosted on the journal’s website indefinitely.
-
In the unlikely event that IJHE ceases publication, previously published articles will remain accessible via LOCKSS/CLOCKSS or other archiving partners.
4. Metadata Preservation
-
Complete article metadata (including title, authors, abstracts, keywords, and references) is preserved to facilitate discovery and access through library catalogs, indexing services, and archiving platforms.
5. Commitment to Accessibility
-
IJHE ensures that all content remains accessible and freely available to the global scholarly community without embargoes, subscription fees, or access restrictions.
