Correction, Retraction & Withdrawal

The Journal of Complementary Therapies in Midwifery and Nursing (JCTMN) is committed to upholding the integrity of the academic record. We follow guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling corrections, retractions, and withdrawals.

1. Corrections (Errata or Corrigenda)

  • Minor errors that do not affect the overall findings or conclusions of a published article may be corrected through a formal correction notice (erratum/corrigendum).

  • Corrections will be linked to the original article and indexed accordingly.

  • Authors, readers, or editors may initiate a correction request.

2. Retractions

  • A retraction will be issued when there is evidence of:

    • Plagiarism or unethical research practices

    • Serious errors that invalidate the findings

    • Data fabrication or falsification

    • Redundant or duplicate publication

    • Undisclosed conflict of interest affecting interpretation

  • Retraction notices will clearly state the reason and be linked to the original article, which will be marked as “Retracted” but remain publicly available.

3. Article Withdrawal

  • Articles may be withdrawn prior to publication if:

    • Authors identify major errors or ethical concerns

    • The manuscript is found to violate submission guidelines or editorial policies

  • Once published, withdrawal is only considered under rare and justified circumstances (e.g., legal infringements or proven fraud).

  • Withdrawn articles will be removed from the publication record and replaced with a notice explaining the reason for withdrawal.

4. Appeals and Author Involvement

  • Authors will be informed of any correction or retraction process and given an opportunity to respond.

  • Appeals will be handled by the editorial board in consultation with independent reviewers, if necessary.

5. Transparency and Indexing

  • All corrections, retractions, and withdrawal notices will be freely accessible and submitted to indexing databases for transparency.
