Peer Review Policies & Responsibilities

The Journal of Complementary Therapies in Midwifery and Nursing (JCTMN) upholds a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the integrity, quality, and relevance of the content it publishes. The identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process.

1. Peer Review Process

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening to assess scope alignment and compliance with submission guidelines.

  • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

  • Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback on the manuscript’s originality, methodology, ethical standards, clarity, and contribution to the field.

  • Based on reviewer comments, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:

    • Accept

    • Minor revision

    • Major revision

    • Reject

  • Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers if necessary.

  • Final decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief and Section Editors.

2. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality.

  • Disclose any potential conflict of interest.

  • Provide thorough, evidence-based, and respectful evaluations.

  • Refrain from using any part of the manuscript for personal advantage or research prior to publication.

  • Notify the editorial office if unable to review or if the manuscript lies outside their area of expertise.

3. Author Responsibilities

  • Ensure the manuscript is original, ethically sound, and accurately reports findings.

  • Respond to reviewer comments respectfully and thoroughly.

  • Refrain from submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously (no concurrent submissions).

  • Disclose any conflicts of interest or funding sources.

4. Editorial Responsibilities

  • Maintain the confidentiality of submissions and reviews.

  • Ensure fair and unbiased decision-making based on reviewer feedback and ethical considerations.

  • Manage potential conflicts of interest by reassigning submissions to impartial editors.

  • Oversee the integrity of the peer review process and ensure adherence to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

JCTMN follows the ethical standards and best practices as outlined by the COPE, ICMJE, and DOAJ principles of transparency in scholarly publishing.
