Journal History
The International Journal of Healthcare and Education (IJHE) was founded in 2024 as a response to the growing global demand for scholarly discourse that bridges the evolving fields of healthcare practice and health professions education. Recognizing the urgent need for a multidisciplinary platform that fosters innovation, evidence-based teaching, and policy-driven healthcare improvements, IJHE was established by a group of educators, researchers, and healthcare professionals committed to advancing both clinical and educational excellence.
From its inception, IJHE positioned itself as a fully open access, peer-reviewed international journal, committed to publishing high-quality research and practice insights across the domains of medical, nursing, public health, and allied health education. The journal also emphasizes interprofessional collaboration, patient-centered care, and educational technology — addressing the complex and interconnected challenges of modern healthcare systems.
The launch of IJHE’s first edition in 2025 marks a significant milestone in our mission to support global scholarly communication, particularly for contributors and readers in low- and middle-income countries, where access to up-to-date research is often limited.
Over time, IJHE aims to grow into a leading voice in the healthcare education landscape, with continuous efforts to achieve indexing in reputable academic databases such as DOAJ, Scopus, and Web of Science, and to collaborate with global health and education institutions.
