Correction, Retraction & Withdrawal
The International Journal of Adolescent and Pediatric Health (IJAPH) is committed to preserving the integrity of the academic record. All corrections, retractions, and withdrawals are handled according to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and adhere to international best practices.
1. Corrections (Errata/Corrections of Record)
Minor errors that do not affect the overall findings or conclusions of the manuscript (e.g., author name misspellings, typographical errors, incorrect affiliations, or figure labeling mistakes) will be addressed via a correction notice.
-
A correction notice will be published in the next available issue and linked to the original article.
-
The original article remains unchanged but includes a link to the correction notice.
-
The correction is indexed and assigned its own DOI.
2. Retractions
Retraction may occur when a published article is found to contain one or more of the following:
-
Evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification
-
Serious ethical violations (e.g., lack of informed consent, undeclared conflicts of interest)
-
Honest errors that invalidate the findings (e.g., miscalculation, experimental flaws)
-
Redundant or duplicate publication
-
Legal issues (e.g., copyright infringement)
Retraction Process:
-
Initiated by authors, editors, or third-party whistleblowers
-
Evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and Ethics Committee
-
A retraction notice will be published in place of the original article
-
The PDF of the article will be watermarked as “Retracted,” but remain accessible for the integrity of the scholarly record
-
The reason for retraction will be clearly stated and linked via DOI
3. Article Withdrawal (Pre-publication)
Authors may request withdrawal of a submitted manuscript only before it enters peer review or production, by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office.
Post-acceptance withdrawal will only be permitted in the following conditions:
-
Discovery of fundamental errors by the authors
-
Ethical concerns raised during post-acceptance review
-
Editorial approval based on COPE guidance
Unjustified or unethical withdrawal requests (e.g., after conditional acceptance or during layout) may result in blacklisting of the authors.
4. Author-Initiated Corrections or Retractions
Authors must promptly notify the editorial office if they discover significant errors or ethical concerns in their published work. They may request correction or retraction by:
-
Clearly stating the issue and supporting evidence
-
Providing a revised version (if correction) or statement of reason (if retraction)
All decisions will be reviewed by the editorial board and follow COPE’s Retraction Guidelines.
???? 5. Publisher Responsibility
PT Inovasi Multi Guna and IJAPH’s editorial team ensure:
-
Transparent retraction and correction notices
-
Crossref DOI metadata updates for indexing accuracy
-
Collaboration with indexing services (e.g., Google Scholar, DOAJ, Crossref, GARUDA) to update records
