ORCID Policy
The International Journal of Adolescent and Pediatric Health (IJAPH) supports the use of ORCID iDs to promote accurate researcher identification, transparent authorship attribution, and reliable connection of scholarly contributions across publishing systems.
ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) provides researchers with a unique and persistent digital identifier that helps distinguish individuals from other researchers with similar names and supports the accurate attribution of scholarly work.
More information about ORCID is available at:

1. ORCID for Authors
IJAPH strongly encourages all authors to provide a valid ORCID iD when submitting a manuscript.
The corresponding author is encouraged to ensure that ORCID information for all co-authors is entered accurately in the manuscript metadata where available.
Authors should enter their ORCID iD in the standard format:
ORCID information may be displayed in article metadata and other publication records where supported by the journal's publishing platform and article format.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the ORCID iD provided belongs to the correct individual.
2. ORCID in OJS Metadata
Authors should enter their ORCID iD in the appropriate author metadata field during manuscript submission through the IJAPH Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
Where ORCID integration is available, authors may be asked to authenticate or verify their ORCID iD through the journal system.
ORCID metadata is used to support:
- accurate identification of authors;
- consistent attribution of scholarly contributions;
- improved quality of author metadata;
- linking of publications with researcher profiles where technically supported; and
- reduction of ambiguity among researchers with similar names.
3. ORCID Requirement
If IJAPH formally requires ORCID for the corresponding author, the requirement will be clearly stated in the journal's Author Guidelines and submission system.
Where ORCID is not technically required for submission, authors are still strongly encouraged to provide one.
The absence of an ORCID iD will not be used as a substitute for scholarly or ethical assessment of a manuscript unless ORCID submission has been formally designated as a journal requirement.
4. Editors and Reviewers
Editors and peer reviewers are also encouraged to maintain valid ORCID iDs.
ORCID may assist the journal in:
- accurately identifying editors and reviewers;
- maintaining reliable editorial records; and
- supporting appropriate recognition of scholarly service where compatible systems are available.
Reviewer identities remain subject to the journal's double-blind peer-review and confidentiality policies.
ORCID information must not be used in a way that compromises reviewer anonymity.
5. ORCID and Authorship
An ORCID iD does not by itself establish authorship.
All individuals listed as authors must meet the journal's applicable authorship and contributorship requirements.
ORCID is used as an identity and attribution tool, while responsibility for authorship, contribution, and accountability remains governed by IJAPH's publication ethics and authorship policies.
6. Privacy and Use of ORCID Information
ORCID information collected through the IJAPH submission system is used only for legitimate scholarly publishing and journal administration purposes.
IJAPH does not sell ORCID information or use it for unrelated commercial purposes.
The handling of personal and researcher information is subject to the journal's Privacy Statement and applicable editorial confidentiality requirements.
7. Registering for an ORCID iD
Researchers who do not yet have an ORCID iD may register free of charge through the official ORCID website:
Authors should maintain only one ORCID iD and keep their ORCID profile information accurate and up to date.
