Journal Policies

The Journal of Community Health and Nursing (JCHN) upholds the highest standards of ethical publishing, peer review integrity, and editorial transparency. The following journal policies govern manuscript submission, review, publication, authorship, access, and archiving.

1. Open Access Policy

JCHN is a fully open access journal. All articles are immediately and permanently available online, free of charge. The journal operates under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing anyone to share, reuse, and adapt the work with appropriate attribution.

➡️ See full policy: Open Access Policy

2. Plagiarism and AI-Generated Content Policy

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin). The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or AI-generated content that replaces original intellectual contribution. AI tools may only be used for language support with full author oversight and disclosure.

➡️ See full policy: Plagiarism & AI Policy

3. Peer Review Policy

JCHN follows a double-blind peer review process. At least two independent reviewers evaluate each manuscript for scientific merit, originality, ethics, and relevance. Editors ensure fairness, confidentiality, and impartiality in all review decisions.

➡️ See full policy: Peer Review Policies & Responsibilities

4. Editorial Process & Responsibilities

Editors oversee the review process, enforce ethical standards, and maintain editorial independence. The editorial team is responsible for selecting reviewers, making decisions, and handling appeals or ethical concerns.

➡️ See full policy: Editor Process & Responsibilities

5. Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

JCHN adheres to COPE and ICMJE guidelines. All parties (authors, reviewers, editors, and publisher) must act with honesty, transparency, and academic integrity. The journal has zero tolerance for data fabrication, plagiarism, ghost authorship, or unethical research.

➡️ See full policy: Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

6. Authorship and Contributor Policy

All listed authors must meet authorship criteria. Contributions must be clearly stated, and corresponding authors are responsible for obtaining approval from all co-authors before submission.

JCHN may issue:

  • Corrections for minor errors

  • Retractions for serious ethical or scientific violations

  • Withdrawals for manuscripts withdrawn prior to publication

This ensures permanent access even if the journal ceases publication.
