Focus & Scope

The Journal of Community Health and Nursing (JCHN) is an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes scholarly work focused on improving health outcomes at the community level through nursing practice, education, research, and innovation. Our journal serves as a platform for the dissemination of evidence-based practices, interdisciplinary approaches, and culturally sensitive interventions in community and public health.


Aims

JCHN aims to:

  • Advance knowledge and practice in community health and nursing

  • Promote health equity and accessibility, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)

  • Support the translation of research into policy and practice

  • Facilitate global and local dialogue on community-based care, prevention, and health promotion

Types of Articles Accepted

  • Original research articles (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods)

  • Systematic, scoping, or narrative reviews

  • Short communications or pilot studies

  • Case reports and community practice reports

  • Community service or engagement reports

  • Editorials, commentaries, and letters to the editor

All submissions must demonstrate ethical research practices, relevance to community health and nursing, and clear implications for practice, education, or policy.


Geographic and Cultural Relevance

While JCHN accepts global submissions, we especially encourage work from Southeast Asia, Indonesia, and other low-resource settings, where community and public health strategies are critical to improving population well-being.
