Revenue Sources

The Journal of Community Health and Nursing (JCHN) is committed to upholding the principles of editorial independence, open access, and transparency in scholarly publishing. To support these goals and ensure the sustainability of the journal while keeping access free for readers and authors, we rely on the following revenue sources:

1. Publisher Support

JCHN is fully owned and managed by PT Inovasi Multi Guna, an independent academic publisher based in Indonesia. The publisher provides financial and administrative support for:

  • Journal hosting and website maintenance

  • Manuscript submission and peer review systems

  • Editorial management and layout services

  • DOI registration via Crossref

  • Digital archiving and content preservation

This support is critical to ensuring the journal operates without charging submission or publication fees in its first year.

2. Institutional Collaboration

We collaborate with academic institutions, nursing colleges, and health research centers to support:

  • Special issues and thematic supplements

  • Conference proceedings

  • Outreach and promotional activities

These partnerships may include cost-sharing models or non-financial contributions, such as editorial staff time, peer reviewers, or technical support.

3. Educational and Training Services

PT Inovasi Multi Guna may generate revenue from:

  • Organizing editorial workshops, nursing research trainings, and publishing seminars

  • Developing educational materials related to research ethics, evidence-based nursing, and open access publishing
These programs indirectly support the sustainability of JCHN.

4. Print Edition Sales (Optional)

While JCHN is primarily an online journal, printed versions of each issue are available upon request. Revenue from the sale of printed copies helps support:

  • Printing and distribution costs

  • Layout and formatting services

  • Promotional outreach to libraries, nursing schools, and healthcare institutions

➡️ See our Order Printed Version Policy for details.

5. Advertising (Strictly Controlled)

JCHN may accept limited advertising from academic institutions, health-related organizations, or medical publishers. However:

  • Advertisements are clearly marked and do not influence editorial decisions

  • We do not accept ads for products related to tobacco, alcohol, or misleading health claims

➡️ See our Advertising Policy for more information.

6. Future Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Currently, JCHN charges no APCs for publication. However, to ensure long-term sustainability, modest APCs may be introduced in future volumes (starting 2026), with:

  • Full waivers for authors from low-income countries

  • Discounts for lower-middle-income countries

  • Institutional sponsorship options

➡️ See our APC Policy for details.

Editorial Independence Guarantee

Regardless of revenue source, all editorial decisions are made independently by the Editorial Board, based solely on the quality, originality, and relevance of submissions. Revenue streams do not influence:

  • Manuscript acceptance or rejection

  • Reviewer selection

  • Editorial prioritization or promotion
